Systems of Equations are used to determine the proper
mixture of chemical solutions, the parameters of distance,
speed, and time associated with an object in motion, and
cost analysis calculations commonly found in business
ventures. Students will begin this topic of study by learning
how to use the substitution, elimination, and graphing method
to solve a system of equations. Students will then progress to
using each of these methods to solve the application type
problems listed above. Technology will play a key role in helping
students master the concepts associated with systems of equations.

Technology Integration:
Students will be required in this course to develop a power
point presentation showing how they will use the elimination
method, substitution method, and the graphing method to
solve a system of equations. Students will also be required
to complete a podcast where they will provide a verbal
description of their approach to solving a system of equations.
Finally a Wiki website will be created for students to collaborate
together and provide solutions to three types of application problems
involving mixture, rate, and cost.
